Hey gang. Just wanted to give you an update on the game we played last spring. Thanks to your voting, we were able to successfully create a proper rankings of the movies of these two actors in comparison to one another. I think there is a lot to be debated here, but that’s for you to do, and me to then follow through and address your concerns.
At this point, the only way to change these rankings is to voice your opinion either here or with an @ reply on twitter to @themoviefight.

Hey everybody.
Today, I’d like to introduce a new game that I’m going to try out over the next few weeks. To go along with our normal voting, and the upcoming tournaments that are coming down the pipeline, I’d like to start a new side project that, for now, I will call “Bouts!”
Generally on the site, we have fights between movies that last one round. The movies go up, you vote on them for 6 days, and then the results are tabulated.
OK, so after discussing this further, I’ve decided to change this to more of a SURVIVOR SERIES Type thing. Each actor gets 10 performances in. They battle in 10 rounds. When a performance loses it has been eliminated. When the first 10 fights are over, Those movies that are still alive fight again until all of one actor’s movies have been eliminated, thus being crowned the winner!!
Kinda crazy, but I think you’ll get it when you see it in action. Point is, I need your votes more than ever! So stop by and vote!
| Being John Malkovich | 8 | 4 | Better Off Dead |
| Sixteen Candles | 10 | 1 | The Thin Red Line |
| Runaway Jury | 6 | 4 | Identity |
| The Journey of Natty Gann | 3 | 6 | Adaptation |
| Twins | 4 | 7 | The Terminator |
| Conan The Destroyer | 4 | 2 | Collateral Damage |
| Raw Deal | 3 | 5 | Jingle All the Way |
| Junior | 1 | 3 | The 6th Day |
Well, I think I’ll keep at this. This time, we’re going to go with the widest release of the weekend, Obsessed…
Synopsis: “THE WIRE’s Idris Elba stars in this thriller as a man who seems to have a perfect life. He is married to Sharon (Beyoncé Knowles), and he has just earned a promotion at work. But destruction looms when a pretty temp (HEROES’ Ali Larter) grows a little too fond of him.”
So, your job is to Fit this movie into as many rankings as you can COMPLETELY UNSEEN! Your job is to rank the following lists:
Writer David Loughery’s Films: Passenger 57, The Three Musketeers, Money Train, Tom and Huck, Lakeview Terrace, and Obsessed
Beyonce’s Films: Austin Powers Goldfinger, The Fighting Temptations, The Pink Panther, Dreamgirls, Cadillac Records, and Obsessed
and
Ali Larter’s Films: Varsity Blues, House on Haunted Hill, Final Destination, Legally Blonde, American Outlaws, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Final Destination 2, Resident Evil: Extinction, and Obsessed
Last but not least, our Keyword Fight is….:
Stalking Movies: City of God, There’s Something About Mary, Zodiac, Disturbia, Halloween, Basic Instinct, Wicker Park, Cape Fear, Red Eye, and Obsessed
OK, I’ll chime in with my rankings, but you should do so as well. Just one ranking will do; you dont need to do all 4. There’s no need to be shy. If you haven’t seen em, rank em on how much you want to see them, how much they appeal to you, so on so forth. Have some fun with it. I look forward to hearing from you…
Hey everyone…
Ok, I think this was somewhat unavoidable, like fate, but the first movie that we are going to discuss is Fighting…
Synopsis: “Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) has come to New York City with nothing. Barely earning a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets, his luck changes when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) sees that he has a natural talent for streetfighting.” –© Universal Pictures
So, what we are going to do is try to fit this movie into as many rankings as we can COMPLETELY UNSEEN! Your job is to rank the following lists:
Director Dito Montiel’s Films: A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting
Channing Tatum’s Films: Coach Carter, Supercross, Havoc, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, She’s the Man, Step Up, Step Up 2: The Streets, Stop Loss, Fighting
and
Terrence Howard’s Films: The Best Man, Big Momma’s House, Angel Eyes, Glitter, Hart’s War, Biker Boyz, Crash, Ray, Hustle & Flow, Four Brothers, The Brave One, August Rush, Awake, Iron Man, Fighting
So, I figure on adding at least one keyword for each movie as well as these few actor/director credits… so this movie’s Keyword is:
Mixed Martial Arts Movies: Unleashed, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Bloodsport, Never Back Down, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Cradle 2 the Grave, Redbelt, The Quest, and Fighting.
OK, I’ll chime in with my rankings, but you should do so as well. Just one ranking will do; you dont need to do all 4. There’s no need to be shy. If you haven’t seen em, rank em on how much you want to see them, how much they appeal to you, so on so forth. Have some fun with it. I look forward to hearing from you…
Johnny C is back my friends. Here are four more fights for you to argue over. This time, there was a small amount of method to my madness of how I picked them. I looked at the movies that had the closest MF# and selected those movies because they I consider them a situation where the fight could go either way. Maybe that’s true. Maybe not. I guess the idea is, as always, to wait and see.
Please vote. Please vote for all of them. And please tell all of your friends to stop by as well.
| Eight Men Out | 7 | 4 | Martian Child |
| War Inc. | 7 | 1 | Igor |
