Possible the last day of the Kevin Smith Fight…. until “A Couple of Dicks” comes out next year!!!

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 0 3 Chasing Amy
Zack and Miri Make a Porno 1 2 Clerks

This has the potential to be the last Kevin Smith Fight and we have the opportunity to solidify his movie’s rankings.  Not trying to push you to vote one way or the other, but here are the three fights:

OH! Also check out the rankings here!

Clerks 2 3 Mallrats
Zack and Miri Make a Porno 3 1 Chasing Amy
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 4 1 Clerks II

Hey everyone…

Ok, I think this was somewhat unavoidable, like fate, but the first movie that we are going to discuss is Fighting…

Synopsis: “Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) has come to New York City with nothing. Barely earning a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets, his luck changes when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) sees that he has a natural talent for streetfighting.” –© Universal Pictures

Here’s a link to the Trailer

So, what we are going to do is try to fit this movie into as many rankings as we can COMPLETELY UNSEEN! Your job is to rank the following lists:

Director Dito Montiel’s Films: A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting

Channing Tatum’s Films: Coach Carter, Supercross, Havoc, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, She’s the Man, Step Up, Step Up 2: The Streets, Stop Loss, Fighting
and
Terrence Howard’s Films: The Best Man, Big Momma’s House, Angel Eyes, Glitter, Hart’s War, Biker Boyz, Crash, Ray, Hustle & Flow, Four Brothers, The Brave One, August Rush, Awake, Iron Man, Fighting

So, I figure on adding at least one keyword for each movie as well as these few actor/director credits… so this movie’s Keyword is:

Mixed Martial Arts Movies: Unleashed, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Bloodsport, Never Back Down, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Cradle 2 the Grave, Redbelt, The Quest, and Fighting.

OK, I’ll chime in with my rankings, but you should do so as well. Just one ranking will do; you dont need to do all 4. There’s no need to be shy. If you haven’t seen em, rank em on how much you want to see them, how much they appeal to you, so on so forth. Have some fun with it. I look forward to hearing from you…

Hey friends. I’m gonna try to circle around later today and add some notes here, but for you Die Hard’s I figure I’ll drop these now:

BTW, here are the current rankings:

Clerks II 6 2 Jersey Girl
Zack and Miri Make a Porno 5 4 Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Clerks 7 4 Chasing Amy
Mallrats 4 8 Dogma

Hey Folks!  Here are four more kevin smith fights.  But don’t be afraid to check out the rankings here:

Clerks 5 7 Dogma
Mallrats 10 1 Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Chasing Amy 9 2 Clerks II
Zack and Miri Make a Porno 7 2 Jersey Girl

Hey, I thought I’d start the Kevin Smith fight today, and I’ll try to pitch a few new fights out to you later today and a ton more this weekend.

Clerks: The Original and still the best. This is one of the best written movies you have ever seen with some of the most impressively distinct views and visuals of the catalog. It might be old, but no sequel could ever hold up.
Clerks II: This is the better film and Kevin would agree. Clerks is so old and he was so naive as to what filmmaking was. It might have been a clever story, but it’s not as good a film. No where near. This is a better comedy and generally speaking people know it.

Chasing Amy: This has to be the most heartfilled, honest and realistic films of Kevin Smith’s catalog. It is amazing and sometimes hard to handle. What Dogma does is take advantage of situations that make for fun and exciting film. But its when you have the best
Dogma: This is one of the most intense films with some of the most interesting content of all time. Chasing Amy is just a movie about love and relationships. Been there, done that. Not funny enough and not interesting enough.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno: This is by far Kevin’s greatest film. With each passing film he clearly gets better and that couldnt be more clear than when comparing these films. All the wild dumb physical humor of that movie should be forgotten for a more adult like film.
Mallrats: This film is awesome. It’s a time capsule to a better time. Everyone feels that this movie is beloved. Most people haven’t seen Zack and Miri. It is was too much too late. Can’t give it the credit due.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back:
This movie is really well made. You might not think its the smartest movie on the block, but you have to admit that the comedy is real and the acting and directing are the best in the series. It’s about 1000% times funnier than Jersey could ever wish to be.
Jersey Girl: This is a really great departure and just the medicine we needed to years and years of the same old same old. This movie gets a bad rap from involving Jen Lopez, but you really need to give it the chance it deserves. It is a solidly made movie and far more interesting than slapstick cameo-filled masterbatory filmmaking.

Clerks 7 0 Clerks II
Chasing Amy 4 5 Dogma
Zack and Miri Make a Porno 2 4 Mallrats
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 6 0 Jersey Girl
Rank Name Wins Losses Win % Vdiff MF#
1 Dogma 3 0 100% 7 11
2 Mallrats 3 1 75% 8 9.9
3 Clerks 3 2 60% 8 9.8

Hey,
At the previous site, we finished up the fight over M Night’s five movies and put it aside. But oops, the fight became unfinalized because he has put out a new movie in the last year. So, here we go. Lets try to get that movie in the right place in the list. I’m not going to have it fight every single movie, but I am going to venture a guess as to where it is to save us all time. So here are two polls to help us decide where to include THE HAPPENING on M Night’s list:

You’ve done it again TMFers! You’ve made the right decisions and we have our rankings finalized once again! Here are the results and don’t forget to check out the finalized rankings here!

Signs 3 1 The Happening
The Happening 3 1 Lady in the Water

Rankings updated: 02-16-09

On the old site, I tried to get the bottom of which movies are the best M Night Shyamalan movies.  And, after some time, we were able to accomplish that.  Since then, we have one movie released by him that needs to be added to the list and there is supposedly one coming out in the winter.  So here are the M. Night Shyamalan movies with some work to come:

Rank Name Wins Losses Win % Vdiff MF#
1 The Sixth Sense 2 0 100% 4 10.6
2 Unbreakable 1 1 50% 0 7.2
3 Signs 2 2 50% 2 7.1
4 The Village 1 1 50% -1 6.5
5 The Happening 1 1 N/A 0 5.4
6 Lady In the Water 0 2 0% -4 3.6

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all of your votes and I’m very happy to announce that thanks to your votes, we have a complete and undeniable ranking of every Christopher Nolan movie. You did great work and I’m proud to present the rankings and all of the results here.

Now you may be saying to yourself “How can he say these are the definitive rankings? I disagree with these rankings! Something on this list is out of place!” Well, you have the right to your opinion and for it to be heard. Right now, thanks to the polls we’ve already done, If a movie is ahead of another, there is a logical reason, likely a direct victory. That being said, I’m not afraid to give a rematch to any movie, but you’d better get out there and lobby for your movie when you can. Just drop a comment on this post and your voice will be heard.

Til then, here are the final rankings for Christopher Nolan Movies:

Rank   Name Wins Losses Win % Vdiff MF#
1   The Dark Knight 3 0 100% 15 13.5
2   Memento 3 1 75% 15 12.1
3   The Prestige 2 2 50% 1 8.5
4   Batman Begins 1 2 33% -2 7.2
5   Insomnia 1 2 33% -14 4.8
6   Following 0 4 0% -21 1.5

Ok and here are all of the results in this fight, just for your knowledge:

The Dark Knight 8 0 Insomnia
Memento 8 1 Batman Begins
The Prestige 7 0 Following
The Prestige 5 3 Batman Begins
The Dark Knight 6 4 Memento
The Dark Knight 6 1 The Prestige
Memento 7 0 Following
Batman Begins 7 0 Insomnia
Following 0 6 Batman Begins
Memento 5 2 The Prestige
Insomnia 3 2 Following

Hey everybody.  So, the results are in from day 2 and they are as follows:

The Dark Knight 6 1 The Prestige
Memento 7 0 Following
Batman Begins 7 0 Insomnia
Following 0 6 Batman Begins

Looks like some lopsided wins in there.  I thought for sure at the end of these four days, all questions would be resolved, but as of now, there are two questions left that need answers.  take a look at the current rankings and I’ll tell you what is resolved after:

Rank   Name Wins Losses Win % Vdiff MF#
1   The Dark Knight 3 0 100% 15 13.5
2   Memento 2 1 67% 12 10.8
3   The Prestige 2 1 67% 4 9.8
4   Batman Begins 2 2 50% 5 8.9
5   Following 0 2 0% -14 4.2
6   Insomnia 0 2 0% -15 3.7

So, according to my records, Dark Knight is solidified at the top and Batman Begins is set at #4.  But there is still a question of which movie deserves #2 and which movie is the bottom of the barrel.  So, we will resolve those questions now:

Results are in and i think we have our final rankings:

Memento 5 2 The Prestige
Insomnia 3 2 Following
